ASTORIA, N.Y.— A new series of insulated, low-profile Coin Cell Retainers from Keystone Electronics features what the company calls a “unique, patent-pending design” that protects the battery from shorting if inserted incorrectly. According to the company, its innovation for surface-mount and thru-hole mount battery retainers allows stacking of two 20mm cells on top of each other to achieve 6 volts of power from the same board footprint or for single-cell 3-volt applications.
The rugged, lightweight retainers exhibit clearly marked polarity and are designed for both lead-free solder and traditional reflow processes. Solder tails, located outside the insulating material, support visual inspection systems.
Keystone Electronics (www.keyelco.com), a major manufacturer of interconnect components and electronic hardware, provides a range of stamping, machining, and assembly services. The company is ISO 9001:200 certified and RoHS compliant.
